A Shinshinto Japanese Wakizashi sword with wooden saya/scabbard covered in polished fish skin. Small kozuka blade with carved design to handle bearing a horse tied to a tree. Light blue tsuka-ito with gold chevron fleck wrapped over stingray skin handle with 2 copper crayfish menuki. Iron tsuba inlaid with silver, gold & copper motifs of praying mantis, water wheel and pawlonia leaves. Overall length 28¼", hatawari: 20½". Additional photos and details available on request.
